Osler Clinic adopta su nombre en homenaje al renombrado m\u00e9dico Sir William Osler (1849-1919).\u00a0 El \u00a0Dr. Osler fue uno de los m\u00e9dicos m\u00e1s distinguidos de la historia de la medicina. Es considerado por \u00a0muchos como el padre de la medicina moderna y representa un ejemplo del m\u00e9dico ideal con valores \u00a0\u00e9ticos y de conocimientos del mayor nivel.<\/p>

Nacido en Canad\u00e1, pronto ascendi\u00f3 a los m\u00e1s altos cargos acad\u00e9micos en la Universidad de McGill en \u00a0Canada, en las universidades estadounidenses de Filadelfia (Pensilvania) y Johns Hopkins en Baltimore y \u00a0finalmente en la Universidad de Oxford (Inglaterra).<\/p>

El Dr. Osler fu\u00e9 un ejemplo de profesionalismo, capacidad cient\u00edfica y humana. Impuls\u00f3 el concepto de la medicina como servicio y apostolado y fue un pionero de la ense\u00f1anza m\u00e9dica centrada en el paciente.<\/p>
